Moonshine : Artists after dark (by alexis wanneroy)

DreamWorks first personal art publication, Moonshine, was conceived as an opportunity to highlight the breath of artistic development talent at Dreamworks. This short documentary gives you a sneak peek into the personal works from the artists.

…Real Life?

This is much better than being home. It’s great having the Pittsburgh apartment to come back to a relax after a long day of work. The 9-5 job is definitely a challenge, especially when every day matters with incredibly tight deadlines and you need to crank out ideas on the hour.

I’m making my way through my second week at MSA interning as an interaction and industrial designer. I’m working alongside engineers of all disciplines in the Firefighter Location Project, which is expected to be a huge product for MSA and the industry. It’s going to be a really difficult design challenge, but I’m having so much fun with it. I’m really feeling the effects of engineering and budget limitations on the design, but it’s interesting to have that obstacle in place. It’s definitely giving me the experience and exposure I’ll never get in design school.

Everyone is so willing to explain and give me insight into the engineering aspects of the project and it’s giving me an entirely new perspective. I was talking to a co-worker today and he said while he was participating in an intense fire simulation drill, he completely forgot about all the equipment, breathing apparatuses and material layered on him and was totally immersed. He said that at those moments the only thing that matters is that the product works.

Anyway, I’m excited how these next few weeks pan out. Hope everyone’s having an awesome summer wherever you may be!

FREE IPAD GIVEAWAY!
So this Christmas, I asked both my boyfriend and mum for an iPad, and both of them got it for me, which I did NOT expect. Yes, I could return it, or sell it, but I actually feel like doing something nice for once. So, yeah.
